Maximus Master Battlecard

EKU Power Drives (Maximus + Sophia) against every tracked competitor · 25 brands across five tiers, aligned to the Kanbina competitor cohort (3 September readout) and Brand Voice Guidelines v1.0. Per brand: their pitch, where they honestly win, where we win, and the response that reframes the deal. Companion to the EKU Visibility Report and the Maximus Competitive Brief.

Working Hypothesis until D05 claims sign-off
The one-line company answer, for every conversation: "Controllers run a machine. Telematics watch a fleet. OEM clouds run their own brand. Maximus runs your whole mixed-brand generator fleet, gensets, engines and batteries, as one system, with Sophia analytics inside it. That is Power Asset Readiness; Chip-to-Cloud is the proof." Installation count pending D05 sign-off
Governance (v1.1, Sep 3): "OEM-agnostic", "brand-agnostic" and "any brand" removed throughout; the approved descriptor is mixed-brand generator fleets (retired 31 Jul, ratified 25 Aug; investor decks are the only exception). Installation counts are held until the D05 claims sign-off. Vertiv and Schneider Electric appear in the AI-visibility dataset as scale references only and are not tracked here. Added 14 Sep (v1.5): Siemens Energy (Omterra from late 2026) is a scale reference for the data-center segment only: gas turbines plus the Omnivise T3000 plant control system (about 4,000 installations, third-party integration via IEC 61850, per its own product page). Not a rival for mixed-brand genset fleets; it becomes relevant only if EKU opens the data-center segment. Resolved 4 Sep (v1.2): Cummins may be named client-facing (rule lifted 4 Sep; frame on architecture, never attack, channel caution holds). Still standing: the complete-power-solutions player stays unnamed in writing through Day 90 per Brand Voice §4.
Radar 23 Sep (v1.7): mixed-brand is shared ground; exclusivity wording is retired. ComAp's Inter-Controller CAN Convertor documents "load and VAr sharing between ComAp's controllers and third-party paralleling gen-set controllers on one site" (DSE8610 MKII, DSE8620 MKII, DEIF AGC 150; 32 controllers, CAN, dead-bus closing) and InteliNeo 5500 Universal Genset Support integrates third-party-controlled gensets over Modbus without replacing the controller. Generac ARC is a local microgrid controller with "65+ verified energy resources". DEIF AGC-4 Mk II manages up to 992 DEIF-controlled gensets. AVEVA enters the data-center watch list (Sophia layer). Atlas Copco ECO Controller (product news, 30 Jul 2026) coordinates generators, batteries and renewables on rental and construction sites and is presented as compatible with DSE, Cat, Cummins and ComAp controllers; Working Hypothesis: adjacent to the Maximus layer, not a control rival yet. Sales rule: never say "only" or "nobody else"; say EKU integrates and orchestrates mixed-brand generator fleets as one system through Maximus and Sophia, and compete on control ownership, cloud-down behavior, switchgear and BESS coordination, commissioning and measured results. Technical matrix E7 pending. Confirmed for the rival text; function depth Needs Validation.
Radar 17 Sep (v1.6): Generac now sells the same mixed-brand cloud on two continents. Pramac Link launched 16 Sep 2026 (Pramac is a Generac company): generators, battery storage, transfer switches, light towers and microgrid components "regardless of the original equipment manufacturer", remote start and stop, open API, rugged edge gateway. Its tagline is word for word the one on Generac Link Manager (Working Hypothesis: same platform, Pramac brand for Europe). With the internet down it buffers data; no local control is described. New watch, not a rival: EnergyFluo (TransGrid Energy, Hanwha group, 14 Sep 2026), energy-management software for data centers that executes operator-approved actions; the release names a chiller and no generators; its 5% to 25% saving is a vendor figure. Market signals, not competitors: the AI Energy Management Alliance (Emerald AI, Google, NVIDIA, 16 Sep 2026) names response speed, duration, predictability and emergency behavior as what a flexible site must prove; NERC figures cited by Hatch (1.5 GW of data-center load lost in 82 seconds, Virginia 2024) explain why. The sales line moves from "we integrate any brand" to "we show what the site does by itself". No movement at mtu, ComAp, DEIF, DSE, Rehlko or Trackunit since 14 Sep.
Radar 14 Sep (v1.4): OmniMetrix bought Gen-Tracker (effective 9 Sep 2026) and now sells "universal readiness monitoring" for "legacy, orphaned and mixed-brand fleets" through an ATS-based device that needs no controller. Monitoring only, US dealer channel; it is the first rival to put "mixed-brand" in its own press release. Promoted from watch candidate to Tier 3. Radar 9 Sep (v1.3): two OEM clouds moved toward Sophia's ground in the last four weeks. ComAp launched Advanced Reporting on 2 Sep 2026 (cloud analytics for hybrid sites: energy flows, renewable share, fuel, battery performance, carbon impact). Rehlko expanded Power Plus on 11 Aug 2026 (cloud monitoring across generators, transfer switches and "supported third-party equipment", North America first). Neither controls a mixed-brand site as one system, but both make the analytics and mixed-fleet monitoring story easier to buy. Generac Link Manager ships every two weeks in 2026 and added a Spanish interface on 13 Aug; no 2026 release note mentions third-party or DSE controllers. Nothing new from mtu EnergetIQ, DSE or Trackunit since the 4 Sep cut.

Tier 1 · Direct · control + cloud

Device incumbents own the controller, and ComAp now shares load across controller brands. The contest is the whole site: who owns the logic, how it runs offline, what is proven.

BrandTheir pitchWhere they winWhere we winWhen the prospect says… → say
ComAp moved 2 Sep"The heart of smart control" · 35 yrs, 13 subsidiaries, WebSupervisor fleet portal, rental focus; 2025 pivot to hyperscale data centers (Bank Controller); Advanced Reporting launched 2 Sep 2026: cloud analytics for hybrid sites (energy flows, renewable share, fuel, battery, carbon), pitched at operators, asset owners, integrators and service providersBrand trust, global support net, open docs, packager relationships, price-checkable catalog; now an ESG and hybrid-performance reporting story of its own; ICCC documents load and VAr sharing with DSE and DEIF controllers on one site (product documentation, read 23 Sep 2026)System orchestration vs device control; WebSupervisor monitors · Maximus runs the site; Advanced Reporting reports on ComAp-controlled sites after the fact, Sophia's analytics sit inside the control loop; ICCC shares load between controllers, while Maximus claims the whole site, switchgear, BESS and loads included, which has to be shown, not asserted (technical matrix E7); their tooling is Windows-only, forum-documented integration friction"We already use ComAp." → "Great controllers. Maximus sits above them · we orchestrate sites that have ComAp units in them. What runs the site as one system today?" · "ComAp now does hybrid reporting." → "Reporting tells you what happened. Ask what changes the dispatch tomorrow." · "ComAp already shares load with our DSE units." → "At the controller layer, yes; ComAp documents it. Ask who coordinates the switchgear, batteries and loads above those controllers, and what the whole site does when the cloud link drops."

DEIF"Power efficiency" · multi-master redundancy, marine/offshore pedigree, iE 250 (EUROPGEN Product of the Year 2026, 7 Jul; iE 250 Marine 6 Aug, IACS UR E27, CODESYS), data-center event pushRedundancy architecture, marine credibility, strong case-study contentDEIF sells controllers into a design; Maximus retrofits orchestration onto the fleet you already own · no rip-and-replace"DEIF has multi-master redundancy." → "So do we at the site level · and we add it to mixed fleets without replacing existing controllers."

Competitor figures and pitches: each brand's own public materials and coverage, captured Sep 2, 2026; ComAp Advanced Reporting added from ComAp materials, 9 Sep 2026; ComAp ICCC read at source 23 Sep 2026. EKU claims follow the D05 claims list; unsigned claims are Working Hypothesis.

Tier 2 · OEM ecosystems

The brand-locked clouds · and one real threat

Siemens Energy, 14 Sep read (Confirmed public signals, Working Hypothesis on impact): 14 Jul 2026, rebrand to Omterra in stages from late 2026 (the Siemens name is a time-limited licence). 25 Aug 2026, the Transformation of Industry division (compressors, industrial steam turbines, electrolyzers, generators and motors, marine; EUR 5.7bn, 17,000 people, 85,000 installed units, about half of revenue in service) starts a legal and operational separation, deconsolidated with a retained minority stake, investors or a listing to follow, no date given. The CEO states the investment focus is power generation and transmission "with higher immediate payback", which is the data-center and AI build-out. What it means: the biggest name in the space runs to data centers too; the mixed-brand fleet operator in oil and gas, mining and rental stays the least contested buyer. Partner angle for D08: the compression carve-out is a standalone industrial company with a large installed base and a service business; candidate channel for controls and monitoring on engine-driven compression. Validation E5 for leadership: does EKU meet Siemens Energy turbines in packager projects, and are Houston packagers moving capacity to data-center work?
⚠ Watch MTU EnergetIQ. Rolls-Royce is marketing "mtu EnergetIQ" · an EnergetIQ Manager plus distributed asset controllers with an AI optimizer (weather, exchange prices, demand) orchestrating PV, wind, BESS, electrolyzers, fuel cells and engines. Jan Henker (Senior Expert Automation & Controls) is fronting it with executive video content, including LinkedIn. It is the closest architectural mirror of Maximus in the OEM camp · but MTU-centric and data-center/microgrid-aimed. Track it quarterly; keep "mixed-brand + retrofit + oilfield-proven" as the wedge. Radar validation (4 Sep): the 30 Apr 2025 release is Battery Analytics, an EnergetIQ extension (predictive maintenance, local containerized processing); platform capabilities come from 2022-2025 materials, and no EnergetIQ document carries a mixed-brand claim. The wedge holds on their own evidence. 9 Sep check: Rolls-Royce Power Systems releases from 3 Aug to 1 Sep 2026 are marine, rail and defence; no EnergetIQ news. mtu's own case pages show an anonymous EnergetIQ data-center case in Osaka: 31 gensets, 45.9 MW (read 18 Sep 2026). 23 Sep: Rolls-Royce expanded mtu Go remote monitoring (marine first, power plants named); no EnergetIQ launch in the 17 to 23 Sep sweep.

Industrial depth, protocol breadth, industrial installations (count pending D05 sign-off). No 2026 release note mentions third-party or DSE controllers"Generac says any make or model too." → "Mixed-brand monitoring and remote start, yes. OmniMetrix added v1.4Acorn Energy subsidiary; "controller-level, enterprise-grade" standby generator monitoring, tens of thousands of endpoints; acquired Gen-Tracker 9 Sep 2026 (ATS-based monitoring for "virtually any make, model or age"); ranks #1 for "generator remote monitoring" with an "ALL brands" claimUS dealer network, Fortune 500 references, two monitoring approaches under one provider, now explicitly targets mixed-brand and legacy fleetsReadiness monitoring, not control: it tells you the genset will start; Maximus decides when it starts, how it shares load and when it stops idling. AggrekoGlobal rental power, modular microgrids; US IPO filed (ticker AGKO); the amended F-1 of 17 Sep 2026 still shows no price range, and the $1.5B raise is a press figure, not a filing figure; data centers were 11% of 2025 revenue, and press coverage of the filing puts AI data centers at 19% of salesSpeed, scale, temporary/bridging power anywhereRental economics compound; orchestrated owned fleets beat long-term rental. Validated against primary sources 4, 9, 14, 17 and 23 Sep 2026 (vendor newsrooms, release notes, product pages with retrieval dates; full registry in the intel skill). Product moves announced in 2026: Trackunit, Rehlko (APM804, Power Plus), DSE, ComAp Advanced Reporting, Atlas Copco ECO Controller, Pramac Link, plus Generac's release train; ComAp ICCC, Generac ARC, DEIF AGC-4 Mk II and AVEVA are documentation read at source on 23 Sep, not new launches. Sales takeaway: the refresh wave is real and data-center-aimed; the analytics layer is getting crowded (ComAp, Rehlko, Generac trending), so Sophia must be sold as analytics inside the control loop, not as a dashboard; mixed-brand is now shared ground (ComAp documents local load sharing across controller brands, read 23 Sep), and no rival publishes measured site behavior with the cloud down. New in v1.4: "mixed-brand" now appears in a rival press release for monitoring only; keep "runs the fleet as one system" attached to the descriptor everywhere.

Hashtags: #EnergetIQ #BESS #EnergyStorage #Cybersecurity. It caps a steady drumbeat: BESS/hybrid-microgrid automation (108 reactions), the mtu Power Generation Symposium 2026 ("500 people from over 50 countries"; his line: "The energy gap is not a problem of 2035. It is a challenge we are facing today"), and an ees Europe clip.

Read on the claims: every argument is a system-integrity argument (redundancy, security, fewer interfaces) · none is a mixed-OEM, retrofit, or oilfield argument. EnergetIQ's story assumes an MTU-designed plant. EKU's counters stay intact: mixed-brand generator fleets, bolts onto existing fleets, proven in oil & gas/mining. And the meta-lesson stands: MTU builds this narrative through a named engineer whose posts out-engage company pages · copy the format, answer the architecture.

Mining (open door)International Mining (covered FLANDERS and EKU, 5 Jan 2026); Mining Journal (under evaluation); Mining Magazine, E&MJ, Coal AgeThe only third-party article naming EKU in 2026 lives here. Pitch FLANDERS field results and the idle story; hooks: Mining Indaba, MINExpo

Five plays EKU should copy

  1. Put a named engineer on camera, recurring. The Henker playbook: a Senior Expert posting monthly on controls gets 68–108 reactions · company-page numbers. EKU's controls engineers should front short LinkedIn videos on orchestration, idle reduction, BESS integration.
  2. Publish the specs as page text. DSE, ComAp, DEIF and Trackunit are LLM-cited because their training, manuals and APIs are public. EKU's datasheets are open PDFs, but the specifications live only inside them: since November 2025, Google has shown only 9 datasheets, and none for Maximus or Sophia. Add the specs as page text + a developer/API page + a genset-controls glossary.
  3. Coin and repeat one category phrase. Trackunit owns "Eliminate Downtime"; Aggreko owns "Greener Upgrades". EKU's candidate is already on the Maximus page: "One brain for the whole site" / generator fleet orchestration · use it in every asset until machines and people repeat it. Working Hypothesis The bare label "power orchestration platform" stays on hold (3 Sep reconciliation: Microsoft naming collision); PAR remains the umbrella.
  4. Anchor PR to trade-show dates. Releases cluster around CONEXPO, CERAWeek, ees Europe. EKU: 2–4 releases/year timed to OTC, ADIPEC, POWERGEN, MINExpo; pitch POWER Magazine, Microgrid Knowledge, Turbomachinery · the outlets proven to cover this niche.
  5. Borrow authority via co-announcements. VoltaGrid reached $1B-scale visibility with almost no owned media by co-releasing with giants. EKU's FLANDERS partnership was the right move · repeat it with engine OEMs, rental fleets, cloud partners so news lives on higher-authority domains.

Universal talking points

Five lines that work in every deal

  1. The layer line: "Everyone in this market sells a piece · a controller, a dashboard, a rental fleet. Maximus is the layer that makes the pieces work as one system."
  2. The mixed-fleet trap: "OEM clouds were built for their own logo. Some now watch other brands too. Ask who runs protection, sequencing and load sharing on site when the cloud link drops."
  3. The watching-vs-running line: "Telematics is a smoke detector. Maximus is the sprinkler system. Sophia is both, plus the incident report."
  4. The retrofit line: "Nobody budgets a rip-and-replace. Maximus bolts onto the fleet you already own." (Site count: use only the figure signed off in D05.)
  5. The attention line (2026-specific): "Most of our competitors are chasing data centers this year. We are still focused on the generator fleet you already run."

Six questions tilt any evaluation toward EKU

Questions that tilt any evaluation toward EKU: "How many brands are in your fleet today · and in 3 years?" · "Who acts on an idle alert at 2 a.m.?" · "What happens to your monitoring when you add BESS or solar?" · "Can you keep your existing controllers, or does their proposal replace them?" · "What did idle fuel cost you last quarter?" · New 17 Sep: "When the cloud link drops, who owns protection, sequencing and load sharing on your site?"
